A Product Manager oversees the processes of all products for a company. They will manage the product from creation to production to sales. Typically, the product manager assists in all points for marketing the items and selling the items as well as keeping track of the performance of the products. They will also make suggestions to change or improve products depending on the performance or sales.

The Product Manager is vital to the performance of a company’s revenue. As they must track and bring forward the best options to have a product sell as many units as possible. They will oversee assisting with design, marketing and sales and must be accurate and detailed to give proper analysis to upper management.

Responsibilities of a Product Manager Include:

  • Assist with design and startup of new products.
  • Ensure new products meet company standards and specifications.
  • Assist with marketing new products to send out into the market.
  • Track and analysis of product sales and who is purchasing products (geographic locations and age/gender groups).
  • Able to take the data found and lead meetings to show performance of product sales and suggestions on how to increase sales.
  • Help with redesign or restructure of products if needed.
  • Help with inventory tracking as well as shipping and receiving.
  • Manage priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to upper management.
  • Be available for overtime work when needed.
