They work with the rest of the software development team to make sure the code is in proper placement and ready for deployment. They also get the source code ready for duplication and distribution.

A backbone of the software development team, the Release Engineer is crucial in making sure software releases smoothly and effectively.

While similar to a DevOps Engineer, their roles vary. Firstly, the DevOps Engineer makes sure the infrastructure is stable, then the Release Engineer works to build stable software.

Responsibilities

  • Firstly, is responsible for coordinating and executing project releases across various platforms by coordinating with technology and project teams to ensure the stability of releases.
  • Secondly, manages and requests backups, deploys applications and production monitoring.
  • Perform quality check processes to identify defects or inconsistencies with deliverables.
  • Works closely with development teams to adjust release plans and monitor application stability.
  • Uses various tools and scripted processes to monitor performance experience.
  • Participates in meetings, workshops and technical assessments when necessary.
  • Provides technical guidance and support for incident management and problem-solving to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Designs, configures, troubleshoots and maintains computer systems.
  • Deploys, manages and maintains secure, scalable network systems using technology from a variety of vendors.
  • Performs security, performance and availability assessments.
  • Learns (and shares) new skills through independent research, formal training and industry events.
