Senior CAD Designer – Residential / AutoCAD

Our client is hiring a Senior CAD Designer to help create detailed construction drawings for custom modular homes. This role is ideal for someone with strong AutoCAD experience who understands residential construction and can turn design concepts into accurate, production-ready plans.

The right candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work closely with internal teams to ensure projects move efficiently from design through production. Since every home is custom, this role requires problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple project details at once.

Responsibilities

• Create complete residential construction drawing sets using AutoCAD
• Develop floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and revisions
• Convert custom home designs into accurate, buildable construction documents
• Work with internal teams to identify and resolve design or construction conflicts early
• Maintain organized drawing files, revisions, and version control
• Help improve drafting standards, templates, and drawing efficiency
• Support 3D modeling efforts when needed
• Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and ready for production

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional AutoCAD experience
• Experience creating residential construction documents
• Ability to produce full drawing sets from start to finish
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work efficiently under deadlines
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Portfolio or work samples available upon request

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modular, panelized, or factory-built construction
• Experience with SketchUp, Revit, or other 3D modeling software
• Experience improving CAD standards, templates, or detail libraries
• Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus

Pay: $80,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
