The Help Desk Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring end users across the organization receive timely and effective technical assistance. This position supports a wide range of IT needs—from resolving common desktop issues to maintaining software performance and assisting with hardware troubleshooting—both in the office and on the production floor.

Responsibilities

Respond to help desk tickets via phone, email, and ticketing system with a focus on fast, friendly support

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices

Assist with user account setup, password resets, and permissions using Active Directory

Install and configure operating systems, Microsoft 365 applications, and other company software

Document support procedures and maintain accurate records of user issues and resolutions

Support onboarding/offboarding processes including equipment setup and configuration

Collaborate with IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical problems

Perform basic network troubleshooting and support VPN and remote access
Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

1–2 years of experience in a help desk, IT support, or desktop technician role

Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and help desk software

Basic understanding of networking, user permissions, and remote support tools

Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a dynamic support environment

IT certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft are a plus

Salary Range
$46,000 – $60,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and technical proficiency.
