Systems Support Specialist

The Systems Support Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining the health and efficiency of the organization’s core IT systems. In this position, you’ll work closely with internal users and technical teams to troubleshoot issues, support system operations, and assist with updates, configurations, and access management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, and system-level issues

  • Manage user accounts, access rights, and system permissions via Active Directory

  • Assist with maintenance, patching, and performance tuning of IT systems

  • Support Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and cloud-based platforms

  • Troubleshoot issues involving printers, shared drives, VPN, and remote access

  • Monitor systems for performance and availability; escalate issues as needed

  • Document technical procedures, system changes, and troubleshooting steps

  • Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to support IT projects


Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

  • 2–3 years of experience in systems support, IT operations, or help desk roles

  • Working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and system utilities

  • Basic understanding of networking (DNS, DHCP, VPN) and cloud services (e.g., Azure, Google Workspace)

  • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or ITIL are a plus

Salary Range

$55,000 – $72,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and systems expertise.
