Structural CAD Designer

In this role, you will be responsible for developing precise structural drawings and models that support engineering designs for commercial buildings and infrastructure. You’ll work directly with structural engineers to prepare plans, sections, and details used for permitting, fabrication, and construction.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with our client in the commercial construction industry. The Structural CAD Designer will play a key part in ensuring project accuracy and efficiency by creating clear, code-compliant documentation that aligns with both architectural and engineering requirements. Responsibilities

• Produce structural drawings including framing plans, foundation layouts, and detail sheets

• Convert engineer sketches and calculations into construction-ready CAD documents

• Revise and update drawings based on design changes and field markups

• Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, civil, and MEP plans

• Maintain drawing standards and document control throughout the project lifecycle

• Assist in preparing structural submittals and permit packages

• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and engineering specifications

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or certificate in Drafting, Structural Design, or related field

• 2+ years of experience in structural CAD drafting or design

• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit Structure is a plus

• Familiarity with steel, concrete, and wood structural systems

• Understanding of construction documentation and detailing standards

• Ability to read and interpret structural plans, sections, and details

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Salary Range

$58,000 – $78,000 annually, depending on experience and software proficiency.
