Senior Network Administrator

Senior Network Administrators play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of an organization’s network infrastructure. They oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems, working to optimize performance and minimize downtime. This role requires a deep understanding of networking technologies, protocols, and security practices, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly.

In this position, you will collaborate with other IT professionals and department leaders to align network solutions with organizational needs. You’ll be responsible for evaluating new technologies, managing upgrades, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain enterprise-level network infrastructure

  • Monitor network performance and implement improvements as needed

  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and coordinate with vendors for resolution

  • Manage firewalls, VPNs, and other network security tools

  • Oversee network backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies

  • Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements

  • Document network configurations, processes, and procedures

  • Train and support junior IT staff in network operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in network administration or a similar role

  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, and security appliances

  • Familiarity with cloud networking solutions (AWS, Azure, etc.)

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ preferred

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Salary Range

$82,000 – $108,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and technical expertise.
