Product Design CAD Engineer

As a Product Design CAD Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in the creation and refinement of 3D models and technical drawings for innovative medical devices. You’ll be involved in every stage of the design process—from early concept development to final production release—ensuring that all models are accurate, functional, and manufacturable.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with our client in the medical device development industry. The ideal candidate brings strong CAD skills, a solid understanding of mechanical design principles, and experience in high-precision product development. Your contributions will directly support products that improve healthcare outcomes and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings of product components, assemblies, and mechanisms

• Translate design concepts and engineering specifications into detailed, manufacturable designs

• Collaborate with R&D, quality, and manufacturing teams to support prototyping and production

• Apply GD&T and industry standards to ensure design clarity and precision

• Conduct tolerance analysis and support design validation testing

• Maintain accurate CAD data, documentation, and revision control throughout the product lifecycle

• Participate in design reviews and offer technical input for design improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field

• 2–4 years of experience in CAD-based product design, preferably in regulated industries

• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, or other 3D CAD platforms

• Strong understanding of materials, injection molding, and assembly techniques

• Knowledge of GD&T and design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA)

• Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and communication skills

• Experience in medical device development or FDA-regulated environments is a plus

Salary Range

$68,000 – $92,000 annually, depending on experience, technical expertise, and industry background.
