Network Services Administrator

A Network Services Administrator plays a vital role in maintaining an organization’s digital lifeline. Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and responsiveness

  • Implement and enforce network security policies, including access control, VPNs, and intrusion detection

  • Conduct routine maintenance, patch management, and firmware updates on network devices

  • Collaborate with IT teams to design scalable, resilient network architectures

  • Maintain detailed documentation of network topology, configurations, and change logs

  • Provide technical support and training for end-users and other IT staff as needed

  • Manage vendor relationships, including procurement and support coordination

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Proven experience administering enterprise networks (LAN/WAN/WLAN) and related infrastructure

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, routing/switching)

  • Experience with firewalls, network monitoring tools, and security best practices

  • Familiarity with network access control, authentication systems, and disaster recovery planning

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Security+) a plus

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills

Salary Range

The annual compensation typically falls between $77,000 and $128,000, depending on your experience, certifications, and technical expertise.
