Manufacturing CAD Technician

As a Manufacturing CAD Technician, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and production documentation to support the fabrication and assembly of industrial equipment and components. You will work closely with design engineers, production teams, and quality control to ensure all drawings are accurate, manufacturable, and aligned with project requirements.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with our client in the industrial equipment manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate has strong drafting and modeling skills, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to translate engineering concepts into practical, shop-ready documentation. Your contributions will directly support efficient production and high-quality output on the factory floor.


Responsibilities

  • Create and revise 2D and 3D CAD models for mechanical parts, assemblies, and fixtures

  • Produce detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for use in manufacturing operations

  • Interpret design specifications, sketches, and engineering notes

  • Maintain organized drawing files and ensure version control throughout project lifecycles

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to address design changes or manufacturing concerns

  • Apply GD&T and industry standards to ensure accurate, functional documentation

  • Support the creation of BOMs and work instructions based on finalized designs


Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or certification in Mechanical Drafting, CAD Technology, or related field

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production design environment

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD Mechanical

  • Familiarity with fabrication methods, machining, welding, and assembly processes

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mechanical specifications

  • Knowledge of GD&T and design for manufacturing (DFM) best practices

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Salary Range

$54,000 – $74,000 annually, based on experience, technical skills, and industry background.
