IT Support Engineer

As an IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support and managing a variety of IT systems including workstations, servers, networks, and cloud services. You’ll handle escalated support issues, assist in systems administration tasks, and play a key role in maintaining a secure and reliable IT environment for end users and business operations.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with our client in the cloud services and managed IT industry. The ideal candidate is technically strong, solution-oriented, and experienced in handling both user support and infrastructure-level troubleshooting. This role offers a mix of support, administration, and project work—perfect for a skilled IT professional looking to deepen their systems knowledge in a dynamic environment.


Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for desktops, servers, networks, and cloud-based services

  • Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and connectivity issues across multiple platforms

  • Assist in the administration of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file systems

  • Manage and support virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS)

  • Maintain documentation, asset inventories, and knowledge base content

  • Participate in IT projects, system upgrades, and deployment of new tools or platforms

  • Ensure system and network security, including antivirus, patching, and backup solutions

  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 3+ years of experience in an IT support or systems engineering role

  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and network troubleshooting

  • Experience with virtualization, cloud platforms, and endpoint security solutions

  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell preferred)

  • Strong analytical, documentation, and customer service skills

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft, AWS, Cisco) are highly preferred

Salary Range

$65,000 – $85,000 annually, depending on experience, technical expertise, and certification level.
