The Hardware Support Technician provides technical assistance for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining computer hardware, peripherals, and related equipment. This role involves working directly with end-users and internal teams to ensure hardware systems operate efficiently and reliably.
In addition to troubleshooting and repairs, the technician manages equipment installations, performs preventative maintenance, and documents technical procedures. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair hardware issues on desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices

Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and related equipment

Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend hardware lifespan

Document service requests, repair processes, and equipment configurations

Collaborate with IT teams to support system upgrades and hardware rollouts

Maintain inventory of spare parts and replacement equipment

Provide on-site and remote support to resolve technical issues promptly
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification preferred

Proven experience in computer hardware repair and maintenance

Familiarity with various operating systems, including Windows and macOS

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
