Entry-Level CAD Drafter

As an Entry-Level CAD Drafter, you will assist in the preparation of technical drawings and plans used in civil engineering projects such as site development, roadways, and utility systems. Under the guidance of senior drafters and engineers, you’ll gain hands-on experience with drafting standards, design software, and real-world project workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating 2D CAD drawings for site plans, grading, and utilities

• Follow established drafting standards and templates to ensure consistency

• Update and revise drawings based on engineer redlines and markups

• Organize and maintain project files, drawing logs, and version control

• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of drawings

• Learn to interpret survey data, design notes, and technical specifications

• Support senior drafters and engineers with drafting tasks and documentation

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or technical certificate in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field

• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks on schedule

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Familiarity with civil or construction drawings is a plus but not required

Salary Range

$42,000 – $54,000 annually, depending on education, skill level, and software familiarity.
