Enterprise Network Administrator

An Enterprise Network Administrator is responsible for managing and optimizing large-scale network environments that support complex organizational operations. This role ensures that the enterprise network is secure, reliable, and capable of handling high volumes of traffic and mission-critical applications.

The position requires a deep understanding of advanced networking technologies, infrastructure planning, and security protocols. The ideal candidate will collaborate with IT leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams to implement best practices, address performance challenges, and support the organization’s long-term technology goals.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless systems

  • Monitor network performance and proactively resolve connectivity or latency issues

  • Implement and manage advanced security measures such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and VPNs

  • Oversee network capacity planning and scalability initiatives

  • Develop and maintain network diagrams, documentation, and configuration records

  • Coordinate and manage vendor relationships for hardware, software, and services

  • Ensure disaster recovery readiness through backup and redundancy strategies

  • Perform regular network audits and compliance checks

  • Support integration of new technologies and enterprise-level upgrades

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

  • Extensive experience in enterprise-level network administration

  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and VLANs

  • Proficiency with network hardware such as routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls

  • Strong understanding of network security principles and compliance standards

  • Hands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or similar highly preferred

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments

Salary Range

$78,000 – $110,000 per year, commensurate with expertise, certifications, and industry experience.
