Electrical CAD Drafter

As an Electrical CAD Drafter, you will be producing detailed drawings and layouts for electrical systems used in commercial and institutional buildings. Your work will support the engineering team by translating design concepts and technical specifications into accurate construction documents used by contractors and installation teams.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with our client in the building systems engineering industry. The ideal candidate is experienced in electrical drafting, proficient in industry-standard CAD software, and familiar with building codes and electrical design standards. You’ll play a key role in helping bring energy-efficient and code-compliant systems to life.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D drawings for electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems

• Modify and revise existing drawings to reflect design changes and field markups

• Collaborate with electrical engineers and designers to ensure drawings meet project requirements

• Maintain project documentation and drawing standards across multiple phases

• Assist in producing permit and construction document sets

• Coordinate drawings with other disciplines such as mechanical, plumbing, and architectural

• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or drafting certificate in Electrical Design, Drafting Technology, or related field

• 2+ years of experience in electrical drafting, preferably in commercial or institutional construction

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or other electrical design software

• Strong understanding of electrical systems, symbols, and layouts

• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications

• Familiarity with NEC and other relevant codes

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Salary Range

$53,000 – $73,000 annually, based on experience and technical expertise.
