Desktop Support Specialist

A Desktop Support Specialist provides technical assistance and troubleshooting for computer systems, hardware, software, and related technologies. This role supports employees in maintaining productivity by ensuring their IT tools function efficiently and reliably.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and software applications

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in person, over the phone, and via remote tools

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and updates

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings in relevant systems

  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements

  • Document issues, solutions, and processes for future reference

  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees, including IT setup and access

  • Collaborate with other IT team members to improve system performance and security

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of experience in desktop or technical support roles

  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems

  • Familiarity with networking concepts, printers, and peripheral devices

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and common business applications

  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Salary Range

Annual compensation typically ranges from $50,000 to $68,000, depending on experience level and technical expertise.
