Civil CAD Technician

Our client, a leader in the environmental engineering space, is looking to bring on a talented Civil CAD Technician through a direct-hire opportunity. This role offers the chance to work on meaningful infrastructure and land development projects that promote sustainability and improve community environments.

As a Civil CAD Technician, you will be responsible for preparing accurate civil engineering drawings, including site plans, grading, utility layouts, and roadway profiles. You’ll work closely with civil engineers and project managers to ensure that all plans are aligned with regulatory requirements, client standards, and engineering best practices. Your work will contribute to projects that enhance communities and promote sustainable development.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed civil engineering drawings and layouts

• Draft site development plans, utility systems, grading plans, and drainage systems

• Interpret engineering sketches and specifications to generate accurate CAD documents

• Update and maintain drawing files, including revisions and project changes

• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of plans

• Assist in preparing documentation for permitting and construction

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and industry design standards

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or technical certification in Civil Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field

• 2+ years of experience as a civil CAD technician or drafter

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar civil design software

• Familiarity with land development, stormwater, grading, and utility design

• Understanding of civil engineering standards and drawing conventions

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans and surveys

Salary Range

$52,000 – $72,000 annually, depending on experience and software proficiency.
