As a CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and refining 3D models and detailed technical drawings that support the design and manufacturing of automotive components and assemblies. You’ll collaborate closely with design, engineering, and production teams to ensure that all CAD models meet functional requirements, manufacturability standards, and project deadlines.

Responsibilities

Create and manage 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings for components, assemblies, and tooling

Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet performance and manufacturing criteria

Revise designs based on testing, feedback, or engineering changes

Apply GD&T and industry standards to ensure quality and accuracy

Participate in design reviews and provide input on design optimization and feasibility

Maintain proper version control and documentation of all CAD files

Support prototype builds and coordinate with suppliers on manufacturability
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field

2+ years of experience as a CAD Engineer or similar role

Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or Creo

Strong knowledge of mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes

Experience with GD&T and design for manufacturing (DFM) principles

Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills

Familiarity with PLM systems and revision control

Salary Range
$65,000 – $90,000 annually, depending on experience, industry background, and software proficiency.
