CAD Drafter

As a CAD Drafter, you will be responsible for creating and revising technical drawings and detailed plans that support the design and production of mechanical systems. You will work closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure that all CAD documentation is accurate, up to date, and aligned with project specifications.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with our client in the mechanical systems design industry. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of drafting standards, proficiency in CAD software, and the ability to interpret technical sketches and engineering notes. Your contributions will be essential to keeping projects on track and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D and 3D CAD drawings for mechanical parts, systems, and assemblies

• Modify existing drawings based on redlines, markups, or design changes

• Organize and maintain drawing files, templates, and documentation

• Interpret sketches, design notes, and technical specifications for drafting purposes

• Coordinate drawings with other disciplines such as electrical and structural

• Ensure compliance with industry drafting standards and internal procedures

• Assist in the preparation of project submittals, shop drawings, and construction documents

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or technical certificate in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field

• 1–3 years of experience as a CAD Drafter in a mechanical or engineering environment

• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or Revit is a plus

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation

• Familiarity with GD&T and drafting standards such as ASME or ANSI

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Salary Range

$50,000 – $66,000 annually, depending on experience, technical ability, and software proficiency.
