CAD Drafter Assistant

As a CAD Drafter Assistant, you will support the production of technical drawings and site plans for environmental and land remediation projects. Working under the guidance of senior drafters and engineers, you’ll assist with preparing and updating CAD files that are critical to regulatory compliance, permitting, and construction documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing 2D drawings and maps using AutoCAD or similar software

• Edit and revise existing drawings based on engineer feedback and redlines

• Organize and maintain drawing files, layers, and title blocks

• Help interpret field data, sketches, and survey notes to create base plans

• Support the drafting team in coordinating with engineers and project managers

• Ensure all drawings follow internal standards and formatting guidelines

• Learn and apply industry-specific drafting techniques and terminology

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or certificate in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field

• 0–2 years of professional experience in CAD drafting

• Familiarity with AutoCAD or other drafting software

• Strong attention to detail and organization

• Eagerness to learn new skills and take direction from senior staff

• Basic understanding of technical drawings or mapping is a plus

• Good communication and teamwork skills

Salary Range

$40,000 – $52,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and technical skill set.
