As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for developing 2D and 3D models and detailed drawings for custom equipment, machinery, and mechanical systems used in industrial automation. You’ll work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure designs are functional, manufacturable, and aligned with client requirements and production capabilities.

Responsibilities

Create 3D models and detailed 2D drawings for machine components, assemblies, and tooling

Translate design concepts, sketches, and technical specifications into complete CAD documentation

Apply proper dimensioning and tolerancing in accordance with GD&T standards

Revise designs based on engineering changes, prototyping feedback, or client input

Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure design feasibility

Organize and maintain CAD files, BOMs, and version control documentation

Assist with design reviews, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design, CAD Technology, or related field

2–4 years of experience in a CAD design role within a mechanical or manufacturing environment

Proficiency in SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar 3D modeling software

Knowledge of mechanical components, materials, and fabrication methods

Familiarity with GD&T and industry drafting standards (ASME, ANSI)

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities

Experience with automation equipment or mechanical systems is a plus

Salary Range
$58,000 – $78,000 annually, depending on experience, technical skill level, and software proficiency.
