CAD Designer

We are hiring on behalf of our client for a full-time, direct-hire CAD Designer. You’ll work closely with engineers, product developers, and manufacturing teams, playing a critical role in the overall product lifecycle—from initial sketches to production-ready models.


Job Description

The CAD Designer will be responsible for creating, modifying, and managing detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings in accordance with engineering and manufacturing standards. The designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and clarity of all design documentation, facilitating smooth product development and manufacturing processes.


Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings based on engineering input and product specifications

  • Revise existing designs to accommodate changes and improvements in design or functionality

  • Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure proper integration of all product components

  • Maintain version control and documentation for all design iterations

  • Conduct design reviews and implement feedback efficiently

  • Assist in the creation of bills of materials (BOM) and support manufacturing with accurate production data

  • Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and best practices

  • Identify potential design or manufacturing issues early in the development process


Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology, or related field

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a CAD Designer or similar role

  • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar

  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to manage multiple design projects with changing priorities

  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems is a plus

  • Familiarity with 3D printing and rapid prototyping is desirable

Salary Range

$60,000 – $85,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
