CAD Designer

As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for transforming product concepts and engineering specifications into detailed 2D and 3D models used throughout the design, prototyping, and manufacturing process. You will collaborate with engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing teams to ensure that every design is functional, manufacturable, and aligned with product performance goals.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with our client in the consumer goods product development industry. The ideal candidate has a strong background in CAD modeling, attention to design for manufacturability, and a creative yet technical mindset. Responsibilities

  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings of product components, assemblies, and packaging using CAD software

  • Translate sketches and concept renderings into fully defined, production-ready designs

  • Apply GD&T and appropriate tolerancing for mechanical parts and assemblies

  • Revise designs based on feedback from testing, design reviews, and manufacturing input

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and quality

  • Maintain organized drawing files, BOMs, and version control throughout the product lifecycle

  • Assist in preparing documentation for prototypes, tooling, and production


Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design, Industrial Design, or related field

  • 2–4 years of experience in a CAD Designer role

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, or similar 3D CAD software

  • Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and DFM principles

  • Experience with GD&T and standard design documentation practices

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple design projects in a fast-paced environment

Salary Range

$58,000 – $78,000 annually, depending on experience, design expertise, and software proficiency.
