As a CAD/CAM Programmer, you will be responsible for creating and optimizing programs that drive CNC machines to manufacture precision components. Using advanced CAD/CAM software, you’ll convert 3D models and engineering drawings into efficient, accurate toolpaths that meet quality and productivity goals.
This is a direct-hire opportunity with our client in the precision machining and manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate is experienced in both design and machining environments, with a strong grasp of materials, tooling, and machine capabilities. Your programming skills will play a vital role in ensuring that complex parts are produced to exacting standards in high-performance manufacturing settings.
Responsibilities

Develop CNC programs from CAD models and engineering drawings using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM)

Optimize toolpaths to improve cycle time, surface finish, and tool life

Collaborate with engineers and machinists to validate designs and resolve manufacturing challenges

Set up and simulate machining processes to ensure program accuracy

Maintain documentation and revision control of all CAD/CAM files

Support continuous improvement by refining programs and machining strategies

Assist with fixture and tooling design when necessary
Qualifications

Associate’s degree or certification in CNC Programming, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field

2+ years of experience in a CAD/CAM programming role

Proficiency with CAM software and familiarity with 3D CAD platforms (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)

Strong knowledge of machining principles, materials, and cutting tools

Experience with multi-axis CNC machines is preferred

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T

Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills

Salary Range
$60,000 – $85,000 annually, depending on experience, technical skills, and machine programming proficiency.
