AutoCAD Specialist

As an AutoCAD Specialist, you will be responsible for producing precise, detailed 2D drawings and layouts to support interior design and space planning projects. Your role will involve working directly with designers, architects, and project managers to translate creative concepts and specifications into technical documentation used for client presentations, permitting, and construction.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with our client in the interior design and space planning industry. The ideal candidate has a strong command of AutoCAD, a solid understanding of interior layouts and building elements, and the ability to work across multiple projects with speed and accuracy. Your contributions will ensure that design intent is clearly communicated and properly executed.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed drawings using AutoCAD

• Work from sketches, measurements, and markups to produce construction-ready documentation

• Maintain CAD drawing standards and organize project files systematically

• Collaborate with design and project management teams to ensure drawing accuracy and consistency

• Assist with space planning layouts, furniture plans, and finish schedules

• Revise and update drawings based on feedback and project changes

• Support the preparation of permit and construction document sets

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or technical certificate in Drafting, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field

• 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD in a professional design or drafting environment

• Strong knowledge of 2D drafting practices and architectural detailing

• Experience with interior layouts, space planning, and finish documentation

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret design specifications

• Familiarity with building codes and ADA guidelines is a plus

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and adapt to changing priorities

Salary Range

$50,000 – $70,000 annually, depending on experience and technical proficiency.
