As an Associate CAD Drafter, you will be responsible for supporting the preparation of detailed engineering drawings and design documentation for roadway, bridge, and transit infrastructure projects. You’ll work under the supervision of senior drafters and engineers, translating technical specifications and sketches into accurate 2D and 3D CAD files used in planning and construction.

Responsibilities

Draft roadway layouts, utility plans, traffic control designs, and bridge components using AutoCAD or Civil 3D

Revise and update drawings based on redlines, field data, and engineering input

Assist in assembling plan sets for submittals and permitting

Maintain organized drawing files and follow established CAD standards

Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawing accuracy

Interpret topographic surveys and field sketches

Support multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven setting
Qualifications

Associate’s degree or technical certificate in Drafting, Civil Technology, or a related field

1–3 years of experience in CAD drafting, preferably in civil or transportation projects

Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D or MicroStation is a plus

Strong attention to detail and understanding of engineering documentation

Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications

Salary Range
$46,000 – $60,000 annually, based on experience, technical skills, and project exposure.
