Job Description for Web Developer

About the Role

As a Web Developer, you will be responsible for designing, coding, and modifying websites, from layout to function, according to specifications. Your role will involve creating visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation. You will be tasked with developing and maintaining web-based applications, ensuring optimal performance, and integrating data from various back-end services and databases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement front-end web code and design standards for writing clean, semantic code.
  • Wireframe and mockup revamped or brand new site pages and present to senior management.
  • Collaborate with marketing teammates, senior management, designers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Create and optimize our web project management, hitting all deadlines and improving efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality web development.
  • Proactively scope and present new ideas to improve our website experience for prospects, leads, and customers.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive knowledge in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and other web scripting languages.
  • Proficiency in responsive design principles and creating responsive websites.
  • Experience with server-side frameworks such as Python, Ruby, PHP, Java, ASP, ASP.NET.
  • Knowledge of database systems such as SQL and Oracle.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and ensuring that applications will adhere to them.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in web development or a related field.
  • Demonstrable portfolio of completed projects showcasing web development expertise.
