About The Role
The VMWare Administrator manages and optimizes VMWare environments, ensuring high availability and performance. They handle installation, configuration, and maintenance of VMWare technologies. Key duties include monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and executing disaster recovery strategies. The role requires a proactive approach to server health, deploying updates, and integrating new technologies to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and Configuration: Set up and configure VMWare environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter servers.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform regular system maintenance, update VMWare tools, and troubleshoot virtualized systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance metrics and adjust configurations to maintain or enhance performance levels.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and execute disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability in emergency situations.
- Security Management: Implement and manage security measures to protect virtual environments from unauthorized access and potential threats.
- Capacity Planning: Analyze and forecast system demands to guide infrastructure scaling decisions.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: Proven experience as a VMWare Administrator or similar role, with a strong understanding of VMWare ESXi and vCenter.
- Technical Proficiencies: Expertise in VMWare tools and technologies, network configurations, and storage management.
