As a CAD Operator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings and layouts to support the design and installation of telecommunications infrastructure, including towers, fiber optics, and utility equipment. Working under the guidance of engineers and project managers, you will convert sketches, site surveys, and design notes into detailed CAD documents that meet client and regulatory requirements.
This is a direct-hire opportunity with our client in the telecommunications infrastructure industry. The ideal candidate is proficient in 2D drafting, understands basic engineering principles, and can manage multiple drawing tasks with precision and efficiency. Your work will support projects that expand and modernize communication networks across a variety of environments.
Responsibilities

Produce 2D CAD drawings for site layouts, equipment placements, and utility routes

Revise and update drawings to reflect engineering changes and field markups

Assist in preparing as-built drawings and documentation for completed installations

Interpret survey data, technical notes, and field sketches into accurate designs

Ensure all drawings meet project specifications and adhere to drafting standards

Maintain organized drawing files and document version control

Collaborate with engineers and other drafting staff to meet deadlines and quality requirements
Qualifications

Associate’s degree or certificate in Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field

1–3 years of experience in CAD drafting, preferably in utilities or infrastructure projects

Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software

Understanding of drafting standards and basic engineering drawings

Ability to interpret technical information and translate it into clean, precise CAD files

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Familiarity with telecommunications or utility design is a plus

Salary Range
$48,000 – $66,000 annually, depending on experience and technical proficiency.
